Joy thought this description of a pilot program between TriMet Lift and Instacart might be of interest. Anyone know more about it?

> Hi Kirk,
>
> Have you seen this? It looks like something that some of our members could benefit from but I haven’t really checked it out. Maybe we could send it out to the chapter members and see if anyone has found out more. We, no doubt have members who get into checking out things like this.

> Dear LIFT Customer,
>
> In response to the recent TriMet fare increase, the LIFT program is working to find new ways we can meet your needs, without increasing your costs. A new option we are evaluating through a one-year pilot program is a partnership with Instacart, a delivery service that offers grocery, pharmacy, pet food deliveries and more from over 50 local retailers.
>
> A huge benefit of this delivery service is that they also offer deliveries to customers who receive EBT benefits, specifically the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
>
> This one-year pilot program will offer free grocery delivery services exclusively for selected eligible LIFT riders through the Instacart platform. Instacart provides deliveries from retailers like Safeway, Fred Meyer, New Seasons, Costco, Grocery Outlet, Walgreens, CVS, Petco and so many more, (including prescription deliveries). We believe this initiative will provide you with a convenient, affordable and reliable solution for grocery, prescription, and household needs, also allowing for more than two bags per trip, which is the current limit when traveling on LIFT.
>
> Selected LIFT customers will gain access to Instacart’s entire platform of local retailers for free deliveries right to your doorstep at no additional costs to you. As this is a pilot program, your feedback is invaluable to us and we will ask selected people to complete periodic surveys for us about the value of the program. If you are selected as a pilot program participant, additional details will be provided about how the program will work.
>
> Would you like to be considered for participating in the pilot program? Interested customers must be able to order items on the Instacart platform, which means that you will need the following:
> Be a LIFT eligible rider with active eligibility through 12/31/2024
> An active email address
> The ability to access the Instacart website or mobile application on a smart device
> A credit/debit or EBT (SNAP) card to pay for your groceries on the Instacart platform (the Instacart+ membership will be provided at no charge to you)
>
> If you meet the criteria above and would like to be considered for the pilot program, please complete and submit the Instacart+ survey through this link before 2/14/24: https://trimet.org/lift/instacart.htm
>
> Thank you for choosing TriMet as your preferred transportation provider especially as we look to be creative about how we help you remain connected to essential services. We will email all riders chosen for this new pilot by 3/1/24.
