I am pasting the minutes from our July chapter meeting. Please take a look
at them and let me know if there any changes or corrections or they look
good to you.

 

NFBO Rose City Chapter

Minutes July 17, 2021

 

                Kirk called the meeting to order at 10:30 Am with the
following members attending: Kirk & Cherri Wagner, Ryan McBee, Jerry
Hathaway, Joyce Green, and Carolyn Brock. Kirk asked the members to talk
about their most memorable experience at a national convention. Joyce Green
made a motion to approve the minutes from our June chapter meeting with
Carolyn seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members
attending the meeting. Joyce Green gave the Treasurer's report with a
beginning balance of $910.00 and a ending balance of $898.00. Joyce
explained how to make a check out to the chapter for members who want to
send a check to pay for dues or other donations with the pay to line being
made out Rose city Chapter NFBO and putting in the memo line what the check
is for as dues or other donation. Jerry Hathaway made a motion to have the
Treasurer's approved as read with Carolyn seconding the motion and the
motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Since the Macular
Degenerate Expo will not be held this year we then had a discussion about
ideas for Meet the Blind Month in October. Kirk brought up a idea for fund
raiser for the chapter by doing a silent auction online that he had heard
about and thought might be something the chapter can do for a fund raiser.
We then had a discussion about other fund raising ideas. Kirk will look more
into the online silent auction and ask the chapter president listserve what
items did well and what items did not do well on the silent auctions that
was done in their chapters and let us know at our next meeting. Kirk said
that he will ask Mary Ann Mendez if she still plan to work on Newsline or if
we need to get somebody else to pursue in working on getting Newsline
awareness improve in Oregon. Kirk asked members to share their experiences
about the virtual National convention that members attended earlier this
month. Kirk agenda the meeting at 11:35 AM.
