State Convention:
The dates for convention are November 12-14.
The hotel in Cottage Grove will not be available, so State convention will be in either Florence or Seven feathers. It will be in person and virtual.
Presidential Release:
President Riccobono would like us to contact our representatives regarding our legislative issues including, the accessible technology Affordability Act.
He also wants chapters and divisions to start thinking about Meet the Blind Month activities.
October 15th is white cane day.
Bring your ideas to the September meeting.
President Riccobono also would like people not to pay a lifetime membership, he prefers people to pay yearly. If you move to another state the lifetime payment does not follow you.
People liked the national convention meetings. Some thought it was to political and hopes it will be centered around blindness only.
Everyone liked the banquet.
Corine won the gift card.

_______________________________________________
The National Federation of the Blind knows that blindness is not the characteristic that defines you or your future. Every day we raise the expectations of blind people, because low expectations create obstacles between blind people and our dreams. You can live the life you want; blindness is not what holds you back.
