Vivian gave an update on OCB and the summer work experience program (SWEP)
students.

The program which is usually in person with the students staying in dorms,
however with the virus, they held it by zoom and phone calls.

The students said that they still enjoyed the program and that in some ways
it pushed them to work harder, because they had to budget their time so they
did not miss the calls.

Corine says the independent program is having budget issues and not being
able to see people in person is working out but there are struggles.

National Convention:

This was Patrick's first convention. He liked the break out session for
Microsoft. he also Liked the genral sessions, and he enjoyed roll call of
states.

Vivian talked about accessible electronic voteing. Where a person can go on
line and click on a secureweb site, where they can fill and review and edit
their ballot. Then they can e-mail it.

During the meeting there were comments regarding the unreliability of the
post office and paper ballots not making it to be counted.

Katie attended the Fund raising during the pandemic, Membership building and
blind not color blind.

Resolutions:

There were 29 resolutions. Only one did not pass.

Katie and others like the banquet speech.

Chrissy brought up the idea of having a guide dog division in Oregon. It
would be a division of the nfb. Her friend Debbie from California talked
about having a division there.

Chrissy would like to see the Medford Tribune on newsline.

It was suggested she call National.

Our next meeting will be on September 5 at 12:00pm

Chrissy won the gift card.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:50

Respectfully submitted by:

Vivian Carlile-Smith

Hello fellow federation members. The big highlights of the presidential
release are please do vote if you are able, and please fill out the survey
about your voting experience. There is a senior retreat being held virtually
by the senior's division of the NFB. For more details visit NFB.org/seniors.
Please keep the NFB up to date on accessibility as you head back to school
so the federation can support you as needed. There will be an access
technology survey you can take to give them specific information. The
independents market has a limited quantity of facemasks, so if you would
like your chapter to support this branding effort please give them a call,
and there will be shipping costs involved so keep this in mind when you
place your chapters order. The theme for this year's meet the blind month
is lived experiences. For more details visit mtbmnfb.org Please vote, and
let the NFB know about your voting experience good or bad in a survey which
will be sent out on October sixth. Thank you for your time and attention
