Hello Fellow NFB members. I just finished an advocacy workshop put on via
our Ohio chapter via zoom. The presenters suggested that to grow membership
you can keep meetings fun by having guest speakers, and doing icebreaker
activities. We could invite another speaker locally like someone from one of
our state independent living centers to come and present to us on what they
do for advanced independent living. We could do a small gathering once a
month before are chapter meetings to get new membership. If members are
willing they can carry NFB literature with them to give out at there leisure
to those who they feel need it. I know we have done bowling and pizza
fundraisers, but maybe we could do one like an ice-cream social. Something
that gets the community involved with us, and spreads the word about us.
These are just some pointers that I took away from the presentation this
evening.
