I am pasting the minutes from our October chapter meeting below. Please take a  look at them and let me know if there are any changes or corrections or if you think the minutes look good to you.

Meeting Minutes October 17, 2020

 

                Kirk called the virtual meeting to order at 10:30 AM. Members attending the meeting were: Kirk & Cherri Wagner, Ryan McBee, Jerry Hathaway, Joyce Green, Carolyn Brock, Jack & Mary Ann Mendez. Joyce Green made a motion to have the minutes approved as E-mail by Jerry Hathaway with Carolyn Brock seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Joyce Green gave the Treasurer’s report with a beginning balance of $1,107.44 and the ending balance is $1,093.44. Carolyn Brock made a motion to have the Treasurer’s report be approved as read with Jerry Hathaway seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. KIRK REMINDED US THAT STATE CONVENTION WILL BE November 14-15. Kirk also brought the subject of donating a gift card from the chapter if Carla ask for donations for door prizes. After a discussion about the type of gift card Joyce Green made a motion to have the chapter purchase a $25 gift card from Ace Hardware to give as a door prize at state convention with Ryan McBee seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Kirk will be sending the list of due paid members to Carla. Kirk also reminded chapter members if we wanted to vote at state convention we must complete that process on the NFBO website. Joyce explain how difficult state Treasurer position  and be careful in suggesting in nominating somebody for this position at this time and praise Kirk for his willingness and diligence as he has filled this position. Kirk played the Presidential release for October. Cherri Wagner made a motion to the chapter donate $25.00 for Meet the Blind month matching donation program with Mary Ann Mendez seconding and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Kirk asked Carolyn Brock to tell something about herself so the members can get to know her better. Kirk will send the link of the two articles that Joyce have suggested at the August meeting to read are "The Blind Doctor of Rocanville" by Eva-Lis Wuorio and "Blindness: Is the Public Against US?" by Kenneth Jernigan discuss at our next meeting. Joyce Green made a motion as members read the Braille Monitor and when they find a article that they like very much and think it will be a good discussion for the chapter that they send the Braille monitor article information to Kirk so he can put it on the agenda and send the article information to the members with Mary Ann Mendez seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Cherri Wagner want to thank the members for supporting her in suggesting writing a letter to Carla about the chapter feelings about state convention that it should be fully virtual at this time. Kirk adjourned the meeting.
