Posted below is an updated chapter minutes from our July chapter meeting.

Minutes July 25, 2020

 

                Kirk open the meeting at 10:30 AM. Persons attending the zoom meeting were Kirk & Cherri Wagner, Ryan McBee, Jerry Hathaway, Joyce Green, Carolyn Brock, MaryAnn Mendez. Guests attending the zoom meeting are Jack Mendez & Ronald Grigg. Jerry Hathaway played the chapter minutes from our June chapter meeting. Joyce Green made a motion to have the minutes approved as read and Ryan McBee second the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Joyce Green gave the Treasurer’s report with a beginning balance of $1,188.44 and the ending balance of $1,126.44. Jerry Hathaway made a motion to have the Treasurer’s report be approved as read with Ryan McBee seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Kirk brought the subject of Jerry Hathaway to send out the minutes and members will respond with changes or corrections or if the minutes look good and then vote at the meeting the minutes to be approved. Members gave their thoughts, impressions, and opinions about National convention virtual meetings that were held in July. It was announced that the National convention for 2021 will be held hopefully in New Orleans. We then had a discussion on the article Joyce Green picked out from the June 2020 Braille Monitor article “Extra effort Required To Be A Blind Person: What Part Myth What Part Reality” by Gary Wonder. Kirk mentioned Lisa Strader of Portland Bureau of Transportation had contacted him asking about chapter members interest in having her visit a meeting and make a presentation. Members and guests were interested, and  I said I would work with Mary Ann on this. Kirk adjourned the meeting.
