I am pasting the minutes from our May chapter meeting. Please take a look at
them and let me know if there any changes or corrections or if the minutes
look good to you.

 

NFB of Oregon Rose city Chapter

Minutes May 20, 2023

 

               Kirk Wagner called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM. Members
attending the meeting were: Kirk & Cherri Wagner, Ryan McBee, Jerry
Hathaway, Joy Relton and Carolyn Brock. Guest attending the meeting are
Tracy Boyd, Marcie Knudson, and Tom Evans from Hanford, California. Kirk ask
us as an introduction ice breaker last month we shared something we have
done or want to do we are especially proud of. This month let's share who or
what inspired us to reach that goal. Joy Relton made a motion to have the
minutes from our April chapter minutes approve as distributed with Carolyn
Brock seconding the motion and the motion was passed by members attending
the meeting. Joy Relton gave a Treasurer's report for April & May with a
beginning balance of $861.71 and the ending balance is $857.71. Jerry
Hathaway gave a motion to have the Treasurer's report be approve as read
with Carolyn Brock seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the
members attending the meeting. Kirk brought the subject of having a chapter
building meeting for the chapter and we then had a discussion about a
chapter building meeting. A committee was formed to discussed the type and
function for a chapter building meeting and the members of the committee are
Kirk Wagner, Joy Relton, and Tracy Boyd. Kirk explained that the chapter
members will suggest a Braille Monitor article to use for a discussion topic
of interest. Nobody had read the article "The Evolution of Independence" by
Elizabeth Rouse (January, 2023 issue).  that Kirk had suggested for a
discussion and suggested that he send it out again for our June chapter
meeting to read and discuss. Joy Relton explained how members can join and
how to pay dues to become a member of the Rose City chapter. Kirk explained
about playing the Presidential release from our national office. Kirk then
played the Presidential release for May. Kirk adjourned the chapter meeting.
