[Rose_City_Chapter] May chapter meeting minutes

It has been a while since the May meeting. The minutes reflect what I recall.

>                 Kirk called the meeting to order at 10:30 AM. The first person is Joy Relton who is attending for the first time and the second person is  Tom Evans from Hanford, California <> visiting as a guest again. Kirk asked us how we ended up in the Portland metro area for introductions. Carolyn Brock made a motion to have the minutes from our April chapter meeting approved as distributed with Cherri Wagner second the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Cherri Wagner gave us the Treasurer’s report with a beginning balance of  <>$1,074.71 <> and the ending balance of $1,062.71. Jerry Hathaway made a motion to have the Treasurer’s report be approved as read with Carolyn Brock seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Jack & Mary Ann Mendez gave a report on the Ukraine We Are You concert that they participated in last month and not able to be at our April meeting. Kirk inform members that will be Newsline information seminar on June 16 at 11:00 AM and will last about 1 hour to 1 & ½ hours and is being conducted by NFB Newsline and Kirk told us that he is trying to get other blindness organizations to know about this seminar. Kirk asked Joy a new member to our chapter to describe her situation with public transit near her home and members gave her suggestions and helpful hints to deal with Trimet. Jack & Mary Ann Mendez gave a report about places that members can travel to without driving in a vehicle that will be nice for members to visit. Kirk played the presidential release for May. Kirk adjourn the meeting at 12:30 PM.
