  Hello everyone,

We saw this article in the Sandy Post and thought it might be a good event for “Meet the Blind” month for the chapter albeit a little early. It would be fun to sponsor a team at some point, this time around I am suggesting the chapter sponsor a hole for $50.

Please see the article below and share your thoughts.

  Kirk

September fundraiser will help cover costs of services for those with low to no vision
With COVID case numbers on the rise again, Hull Foundation and Learning Center staff members have found a way to host fundraisers at the park, 43233 S.E. Oral Hull Road, Sandy, while maintaining social distancing: mini golf.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, the Hull Foundation and Learning Center staff partnered with the Portland Legacy Lions Club will host nine holes of mini golf on the grounds of the park.

"This event is a great opportunity for the Hull Foundation to work with community members," said Executive Director Keith Vance. "It's a nice family-friendly event for the community to get to know us and what we do."

Players' start times will be staggered to keep people distanced from those outside of their usual social bubble. There will be putting and chipping contests, which could earn participants a prize, and a raffle will take place throughout the event.

"It should be fun and accessible for all ages," Vance said.

Entry is $20 per person or $75 per team of four people. Reservations for start times should be made by Friday, Sept. 24, by calling the office at 503-668-6195 or emailing oralhull at gmail.com.

"We're hoping this becomes an annual event," Vance added. "It should be a good time."

Those interested in supporting the event can sponsor a hole for $50 before Sept. 17. Those who wish to support the Hull Foundation for the Blind but cannot attend the fundraiser can donate online at oralhull.org.
